How to Read Literature Like a Professor

This book tries, but it doesn't understand its audience, supposedly tweens. The book has examples which are all over the place, and the author has little concept of what allusions to draw when comparing fiction from the ancient past to works from 1800's or even early 1900's.

Just bought this for my favorite junior high girls and wanted to read it first. The book says it's for ages 8-12.

Not really a book for children.
